I realize that selling stuff on eBay is by far the best way to do business any more, but before I take a huge leap and sell my very first (and beloved) computer, I'd first like to find out if it would even be worth my time to do so. I'm toying with the idea of selling my 9600 for enough cash to at least foot a large down-payment on a new G4 and, if any of you are willing to give me some feedback as to what it might be worth on the market, I'd be very appreciative.
Now to business:
9600/200 upgraded to G3 333/222 1Mb
256Mb RAM (4 64Mb DIMMs)
OEM 4Gb HDD
Seagate 2Gb 7200 RPM HDD
OEM 12x Apple CD-ROM (internal)
La Cie 24x CD-ROM (internal/external)
Sony 8x4x32 CDRW (internal)
Voodoo3 2k (16Mb)
ixMicro ProRez (8Mb)
Keyspan 2-port USB card w/Logitech Mouseman Wheel
SMC 10/100 NIC
AppleVision 1710 AV monitor
Again, any feedback you can offer would be most appreciated. And hey...if anyone has a decent offer (not that I'm look for one...but just in case , I'm willing to negotiate. Thanks for your time.

you should try to get a least a grand for it. With 3 CD-ROM's and 2 video cards, it should be worth it.

I'd say a grand for that set up is pretty fair... the only thing hurting you is the lack of HD space.

Hrm...a grand huh? Well, I suppose that's fair considering all the new Macs and all the price drops on the 'older' ones. These old beige machines are getting ever closer to worthless It's a shame 'cause it's still a great machine, but for as little as most people would probably be willing to shell out for it, I may as well just save up to buy a G4 (733+) and keep the 9600 as a server/last-minute LAN party gamer. Thanks for the input, guys...you've convinced me that it's worth more to myself than anyone else.

Well if you're willing to go through the hassle I'd try to sell your 9600 in a stock configuration and sell off all the extra items seperately. You'll end up getting more for it.

hell, as recently as a year anda half ago I was lucky enough to sell my 9600 stock (except for extra RAM, slightly larger hard drive) for 2 grand, which more than paid for me ta buy a Wallstreet Powerbook...
Anyways, a thousand IS a decent proce, and I'd concur with whomever said that you could sell off the other parts separately and get more, but you probably CAN get more than a thousand if you target your ads a bit...those 6 slot machines are priceless to those in the music biz. I sold mine to David Horowitz Music Publishing in NYC., the largest producer of digital audio, blah blah...anyways, give them or similar people a call and see what their needs are and you may get lucky...
