Hi all you cube owners out there. I was wondering how much a ATi Radeon pulled from a cube would be worth to you? Right now there is one on e-bay for $242. I was kinda surprized because that seemed high to me. But I'm not sure.

I've seen them go even higher on eBay a few months back - law of supply and demand. But recently OWC and a few others have had both Radeons and GF3s (Apple OEMs) that sold for $99-225. So why someone would be willing to pay $240 for an OEM Radeon right now is beyond me. A few minutes online would find either card for less with a 90 warranty. Nothing against eBay though - I've bought and sold stuff there and never had any problems. But I quit bidding on an item once the price gets beyond a same and reasonable level.

BTW, I also have a OEM Radeon from my Cube. But I replaced it wtih an OEM GF3 that I bought from OWC for $199 a few months ago. I keep the Radeon as a spare just in case the GF3 gives out some day. I'd hate for that to happen though - the GF3 is FAST ........joe

Nice to know that the GF3 helps with speed. I saw the GF3 on macresq for $219 and I was thinking if I could get that for the radeon i'd mind as well make the swap. I guess I could do a reserve auction. But how it's all in how many bid on it.

The GF3 is a bargain - 64MB of DDR video RAM and the fastest card you can install in a Cube! When I bought mine a few months ago OWC sold out their entire stock (31 iirc) in 2 hours. GF3s are much more plentiful now. No doubt Apple's recently announced GF4Ti upgrade has something to do with that. Too bad the GF4Ti doesn't fit in a Cube ......joe
