All:
As much as I love my baby, there have been some recent unexpeceted family expenses, and I need to sell this wonderful computer. The unit was purchased in June 2000 direct from the Apple Store; all original boxes, manuals, receipts and the balance of the Apple warranty (through early June 2001) are available. The unit was for personal use only and has travelled lightly; one trip overseas and several trips to the northeastern US, but for the most part has been a home- and local- use machine only. The machine is in overall excellent condition and has been well cared for. There are the usual minor wear-and-tear surface scratches on the bottom (no feet missing), but the upper shell is in like-new shape, the screen has no damage or dead pixels, the keyboard and trackpad work perfectly.
The specs are as follows:
400 MHz PowerBook G3 FireWire
192 MB SDRAM (64 MB lower slot with additional 128 MB 2-2-2 upper slot)
6 GB HD
14.1" TFT XGA Display (1024X768 scalable to lower resolutions)
8 MB SDRAM
DVD-ROM Drive for Media bay (removable)
Full compliment of ports - 10/100 BT Ethernet / 2 FireWire / 2 USB / S-Video Out (w/ composite adaptor) / VGA Out / Analog Audio In and Out
Second Apple Battery (lightly used)
AirPort card installed
Second AirPort Card in box (used in my G4 since May 2000, no longer needed)
AirPort Base Station
Kensington Notebook Backpack (brown leather accents, excellent condition)

As I still have a G4, I cannot provide any of my software with the unit. The unit will have it's hard drive wiped clean (zeroed) and Mac OS 9.0.4 installed. There are two issues with the unit:
* One under-warranty repair in July 2000 for AirPort receptacle having bent pins (possibly bent upon installation of AP card). This has given me no trouble since, although I have to admit I do not normally un- and re-install the AirPort card.
* No PowerBook system CDs - these along with one AirPort CD were lost on a flight over the holidays this year. As I have had difficulty obtaining replacements from Apple, I will include my G4 CDs as a replacement, or deduct $50 from the price if you already have a suitable set (9.0.4 or later) for use and do not need them. One AirPort CD is available.
I live in Northern California (Central Valley), so would be willing to travel to the bay area, south bay, Fresno, etc. for a sale. For those who would like to complete the transaction via mail, I will ship UPS C.O.D., with full insurance, to protect your investment. Due to the nature of the unit (and previous bad experience with international shipments), I would like to constrain this offer to residents of the United States only, please.
I will update this post with a link to pictures of the unit this weekend or sooner.
Asking price: $1800 + shipping. Serious inquiries only, please. If you do not need the AirPort equipment, a substitute arrangement may be possible, although as I now have no use for it either, I would like to sell it as a complete set.
Please contact me at jaguarandi@mindspring.com or reply to this post if you are interested. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Eric French
