what the heck happened that you have the tibook without the screen?!

was it taken apart to get the video cables off the motherboard, or were they cut (better) ?

a screen with hinges costs about 800, provided that nothing was broken on the inside of the base and that the hinges will mount up properly...

so 800 and 950 is 1750 for a powerbook with no warranty---

I need more information. if you don't want to publish the information here, send me an email.

Hello,

The screen is cracked and therefore of no use. It is still very much attached to the main unit though i was planning on keeping it as a wall decoration. Since this is not a standard warranty procedure, I don't have $900 to have the screen replaced Therefore, i'm just hoping to recoup whatever I can.

as a side note, the exterior mount points are still in perfect condition and the bracket (hinges?) for the monitor mounts will be included.

As a note about the iBook drive. The bezal from a CD-ROM will NOT fit. The DVD has it's own bezal as does the Combo, and CDRW's.

None of the bezals on the drives are interchangible.

selling it with the display attached will make it easier to to properly repair, or at least, easier to be sure that the display cables and hinges are in good shape before the repair begins.

I'm under the impression that you can't separate the hinges from the screen, but I could be mistaken.

</font><hr /></blockquote><font size="1" face="Geneva, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif">So actually, the buyer isn't set to go if he adds a screen.

He also has to buy RAM, a Hard Drive, and a power adapter.

So the math is this:

$899 - Screen from PBparts.com
$115 - 30gb Hard drive from <a href="http://www.wegenermedia.com/MHL2300AT.htm" target="_blank">http://www.wegenermedia.com/MHL2300AT.htm</a>
$52 - 256mb ram ($152 if 512mb desired)
$79 - power adapter

$950 - one powerbook, broken screen, no ram, no HD, no power adapter.

So, it's $2095 to put this machine back together, and $2195 to do it with 512mb ram. No warranties, and the annoyance of assembly or contracting for assembly.

Meanwhile, Smalldog.com has this:
PowerBook G4/667 512/30gb/DVD /Airport (openbox) - wrong box
$2099, with 512mb ram, and warranty, and the airport card.

They also have this, if a buyer wanted an airport base station:

PowerBook G4/667 (r) with
Airport Base Station

$2249!

* 512 MB
* 30gb Hard Drive
* DVDROM
* Airport Card already installed!
* PowerBook is factory refurbished with a 1 year Apple warranty
* Includes Airport Base Station (original version)

So, while I don't want to cramp you sale, I am not convinced that it makes sense for me personally to buy your powerbook- the math of doesn't make fiscal sense.

Here's something I came across- it's a sale on ebay of a machine in similar shape as yours- only it has the power adapter, ram and HD-

<a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2032978579" target="_blank">http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2032978579</a>

It sold for $591, with battery, power adapter, 30gb hd, 256mb ram.

So, if you sold yours for about $350 It would begin to be reasonable.
