a 300MHz g3 chip might go for that much alone!
6gb drive $50
128MB ram $15

good luck indeed.

you might be able to get a g3 233 beige desktop for about $350, if you're lucky.

I think what everyone is trying to say is that your price is likely unrealistic. Mac's don't devalue that drastically. I'm afraid that 'serious offer' is going to mean 'out of your budget'.

If you got a G3 for under $200 I'd like to know where. You can't even buy a used beige 233 for less than about $225 on eBay. C'mon, fess up.

Hey guys, how about a little support here. I understand the desire to respond critically if someone is OVER charging, but I think this market place may becoming a little too harsh if someone receives the same criticism for UNDER asking. One of the reasons I like coming to check this board on a regular basis is that people are sometimes willing to sell things at the first reasonable offer instead of at the last, and highest offer.

I guess it really depends on which side of the sale you hope to be on. Why shouldn't a person who makes a lowball offer be open to criticism just as harsh as someone whose asking price is deemed to be too high? Are we supposed to assume that someone making a lowball offer is desperate and destitute and therefore we should take pity? Is an overpriced seller destined to be equated to greedy corporate America against whom all form of flaming should be directed? I think not.

Why do you think eBay is so popular to both buyers and sellers? It is because it revolves around simple supply and demand. The final selling price of every item is dependent on only what the market will bear.

I don't think either buyer or seller should be flamed in this Buy/Sell forum. I mean, these forums ideally should be frequented by interested parties who intend to be on either side of a sale. But more and more often, these forums are populated by posters who not only are not even interested in purchasing but who post simply for the purpose of demeaning and belittling someone else's efforts.

These are the guidelines that I hold myself to: If I am a seller, I will respond to every reasonable offer. OTHERWISE, I WILL NOT RESPOND. If I am a potential buyer, I will respond to every reasonable offer. OTHERWISE, I WILL NOT RESPOND.

you can hit up http://www.pricewatch.com/ for that hub you're looking for. heck, switches are almost as cheap, and they're quicker and more efficient, but it's your call. it's under the "Networking Other" section. These are all new parts, and should be great as long as you go with a brand name (some Generic/House Brands are super-shady).

Thanks. I need cheap and I think a hub is better. I already have one but its filled. Not to mention the fact my ISP will go nuts if I don't use their reccomended setup (I have ADSL), since I get troubles quite often.
