Apple OEM DVD drive w/Bezel for a dual USB iBook. Drive model is a Matshita SR-8176 6X DVD-ROM drive.

I am interested i own a Rev. A icebook, I was wondering if that would work, I am very interested as of now, I only have a CDROM drive, that is it, I am very interested in adquiring the DVD Drive for my ibook, but will I be able to install it?

My friend is putting a combo drive in his iBook. I sold my personal DVD drive to x user so he can tell you about the level of difficulty. I also have an additional Combo drive available. It's a Sony CRX800E 8x8x8x24 combo drive which comes standard on 14.1 inch iBook models. I am selilng this drive for $220 shipped via PayPal. Note that you will need to find a bezel for the Sony.

Drool, I like that Combo... but darn, the coffers are dry.
I'd say the level of difficulty on this mod is about a 5 in a scale of 1-10. The hardest part imho is splitting the case without damaging or scuffing it. And of course having the right screwdrivers and allen wrenches always helps.
