A friend of mine has an old LaserWriter 4/600 PS. This unit has a LocalTalk interface, a 4-pages-per-minute, 600 dpi engine with a PostScript interpreter.

What would something like that go for?

I don't what folks might pay for it, but I have the same printer, and it's great! In my book, it's gotta be worth a good $500.

I hate to shoot 'ya down, but I'd say you'd be lucky to get $50 for it.

HP 1200 - 15ppm, 1200x1200 dpi - $399 http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/default.asp?edc=279077

Lexmark E210 - 12ppm, 600x600 dpi - $154.99 http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/default.asp?edc=309248

HP LaserJet 9000 - 50ppm, 1200x1200 dpi - $2999.99 http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/default.asp?edc=288595
(actually a fantastic value)

IBM InfoPrint 70 - 70ppm, 600 dpi - $44,459.96 http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/default.asp?edc=287286

Such a shame that something as good as Apple's LaserWriters aren't still supported by the company. They are TANKS! I still use an old 12/640PS every day (at least one print every hour) and all we need to do is occasionally reload toner and paper. It's over ten years old!

I have a LW 4/600, Use it in OSX with a Dayna Ether-Print adapter connected to my DSL router, sounds pretty supported to me

More like almost 6.
The 12/640 was one of Apple's last LaserWriters, intro'd in June 1996.
