This is a great powerbook I have run both OS 9 and OS X on it with no problems. The 14.1” screen is an upgrade so it will only show thousands of colors. The screen is in great condition but it does have one dead pixel. It is on the the upper right hand side just below the menu bar. It is hard to find but none the less it is there.

Accessories Included:
• Standard AC adapter
• Extra Battery
• Madsonline Power Adapter w/ long and short cords
• Auto power adapter
• Addonics PocketDrive w/ 6G hard drive, PCMCIA cable, USB cable, AC adapter. Works in OS X.
• 100MB Zip drive w/ scsi cable and power adapter
• Powerbook SCSI adapter
• Firewire2Go PCMCIA card
• Eaglecreek computer sleeve
• Kensington Orbit trackball

Specifications:
• 233 MHz processor
• 512K L2 Cache
• 192 MB RAM
• 14.1" Display (upgraded)
• 12 GB Hard Drive
• 20X CDROM
• Li-ion Battery
• "Standard" AC Adapter
• 56K Internal Modem
• 2 PCMCIA slots
• Ethernet
• SCSI port
• IRDA
• S-Video port
• VGA out port
• Serial port
• Sound in, Sound out ports

$600, shipped. Payment by Paypal preferred but I will accept money order and personal checks (must clear before shipping). If you are interested please e-mail me at mparker@websource.net I have posted this in a few different forums. I figured I would go this route and try and stay away from Ebay if possible.

Thanks,

Matt

Matt: nice setup! My wife and I are kicking around the idea of getting a iBook/PowerBook, but my big thing is upgradabiltiy and usability right out of the box. Your setup most certainly has the usability part down! I would be a little concerned about the "limited to Thousands of colors" part. I'm assuming it is because the built in video hardware will only support that color depth on the larger screen...am I correct? Running in Thousands isn't such a big deal, but being a designer by trade, more is better when it comes to color depth and it's in my nature to be curious about such things.

Also, I know it's possible to upgrade the processor in the Wallstreets...is this such a model? Or is it somehow limited in that sense? Naturally I would assume it would be like any other Wallstreet, but the whole iMac debacle makes me question the possibility.

Oh, one more question: I didn't see it in your description, but does your setup somehow accept USB devices (via PCMCIA, etc.)? Or would one have to purchase a PC card add-on?

I apologize for all the newbie-esque questions, but, although I'm not new to Apple/Macs by any means (been an Apple fan and avid Mac user for nearly 12 years), laptops are a completely new thing to me.

Anyway, any input would be greatly appreciated...and, hey...maybe we'll talk business later on

jaisun,

Yes, the only Thousands of colors is because the built in video will only support that depth on the larger screen.

This model is able to be upgraded using either the Powerlogix or Sonnet processor upgrades. I think Powerlogix makes both a G3 and G4 and Sonnet makes a G3.

The setup as it is now will not accept USB devices you would need to add a PC card. I did have one but my Dad needed one so I pulled it out of the kit for him. I have seen cards going for about $60-70 new and I saw one at the classifieds on http://www.powerbookcentral.com for $39.

If there are any other questions that I can answer please let me know.

Thanks.

Matt

Apple: bumping prices, not specs.
