I am going to be traveling for a while and plan on selling my Power Mac for a laptop.

If it were your system how much would you ask for:

G4 400 AGP
Rage 128 Pro
704 MB Ram
DVD/CD Rom Drive
10 gig original HD (with OS 9)
40 gig Maxtor 7200 rpm (with X)
Logitech 2 button mouse
17 inch Apple Studio Display
Boston Acoustic Speakers with woofer

Computer is in perfect condition. I have all original paperwork and boxes that it came in.

Also, my departure date is floating at the moment but will be no later than the end of July. How much could I expect it to depreciate from its present value until the end of July. I realize Apples unknown announcements could and probably will impact this guestimation.

Thanx in advance

Looks like they're going for about $700 to $900 on eBay, depending on options and extras. One is $1300 bid including the 19" monitor. Currently 13 different auctions for 400 MHz G4's are listed. Keep in mind that these are not final yet - you might want to keep tabs on these as they progress to get a better idea. Prices on eBay tend to be on the high side which is good for a seller.

I'd agree with the $800 guess....judging by what others are getting/have gotten.

(shouldn't this thread perhaps be in the buy/sell forum???)

Just sold mine:

G4/400 AGP
768 RAM
20 GB Hard drive
DVD
All original disks, packaging, cables, documentation
OS 9.1 and 10.1.2 installed (original CDs also provided)

I got $800 for it through a private buyer (ie, NOT eBay).

I'm not sure how much your monitor will add to the price, though.

If it helps, I just bought on ebay:
G4 466
384 Mb RAM
30 Gb Hard drive
CDRW
ATI Rage Pro 16 Mb
Optical mouse
Pro Keyboard
OSX 10.1

For $1100/free shipping

I think you can get $850-$900 for the computer alone............................
