I am posting this for a friend. She works in education and knows absolutely nothing about computers. Her district is 99% Mac and she wants to do basic work at home (ex. word processing, check email, etc.) She is looking for an iBook or older Powerbook. Anybody selling? Oh yeah, she also can't aford to buy anything too expensive. If you can help her out please drop me a note or reply here.
Thanks

Your friend can check out some of the auctions over at ebay. Several 300mhz iBooks have gone for $550-$600 this past week. The newer 466mhz are pushing $800. Ebay might not be the greatest place to get a deal, but at least they have a large variety. Best of luck...
Yeah, about those TPS reports, didn't you get the memo?

At 50 posts I think it goes to member. As for the iBook, get the Tangerine iBook. It should be under 600 on ebay or a used computer online store and if all she is going to be doing is email and word processing stuff it will be more than enough processing power.

Don't know how far back she is looking for, how's this:

Powerbook 540c (color)
100 MHz PPC 603e
40 MB RAM
Ethernet
Modem
Stereo Speakers
Trackpad
Floppy
Working battery

I'm reluctant to part with it, but if she is interested, I am looking for about $200 on it.

E-mail varun@mehtasw.com if interested.
