Hi,
How much would you pay for this:
iMac 333MHZ/160MB RAM, 6GB drive, all original software and poster
Lacie USB CD Burner nearly new (burns at 4x, reads at 24, works with iTunes and Toast and OS X 10.1)
An extra 32 MB RAM chip
Comes with OS 9 installed (no CD), might put 10.1 on it (no CD)
How much would you pay? All this stuff is in like-new condition (really). Has a new internal CD-RAM drive also.
I might take offers of $700 US and up here... not that I *will* sell it, but if I get a good enough price I will.
Thanks,
Matthew

These are the main points i see...
-333 Mhz G3
-6 gig drive
-USB 4x CDr drive
-no system 9 disks
You'll never get $700. The buyer has to have OS 9.x retail disks and the price of a larger HD is worth the cost of a new iMac. USB burners are slow and it only burns at 4x. Its a good mac but compared to a new iMacs its not worth buying used at your price.
I wouldn't pay more than $575

again, it might fetch 600.00 if your lucky. I would set a reserve of 400.00 or 450.00 on it though.

I hate to be redundant but, despite the RAM amount (which may be large for an iMac but is really rather small) I think you would have very little hope of selling this for more than 500 bucks. Its just the way it is. Computers have got to be the worst thing to resell because they cost so much and depreciate so quickly. And like buying a used car...the blue book doesn't take into account any options but thats the price people go by (or NADA which doesn't either). I only bring this up because the burner and extra RAM are mostly moot. Your are selling the package cause its convenient for you to sell it that way, not cause it is convenient for the buyer. Most buyers ignore the extras and don't consider them as adding to the price. Good luck though, the sooner you sell it the more you'll get likely.
Also, a good way to find out what it would fetch on ebay would be to search the completed auctions of similarly configured imacs.

This is what I ran into when trying to sell my rev.a iMac a while back. It just wasn't worth giving up for the paltry $200 or $250 I would get, so my kids are using it. Your iMac will be servicable for quite some time, but resale value will not be pretty.

I was hoping to sell it so I could buy a CDRW iMac. Since that is impossible I'd keep the burner. $500 is a bit lower than what I would sell it for.

Unfortunately, that's the way it works. Everyone would love to get more money for their old systems. But I have to wonder: If your computer works for you now then why the hurry to buy a new iMac? Nothing really revolutionary has changed on the new iMac from the model you have. If you can't afford to buy a new iMac based on the resale of your existing one then wait a few months. Save up some cash and sit tight until the new iMacs come out. Granted your computer won't rise in value but from my standpoint it just makes little sense to invest in a small speed upgrade if what you have works fine. Either way don't expect to get $500 for just the computer.
