I've got an e-friend from Ontario who is coming to visit in a couple weeks. He'd like to get an iBook on the cheap so that he can play around with OS X (he's a pretty hardcore computer geek). I have some that I'm refurbishing, but the boards all have the GPU problem, and I can't guarantee him that I'll have one ready when he gets here. This stuff is a bit harder to come by cheaply in Canada, and it will save him a ton of money in taxes/VAT if he can physically bring it over the border, rather than shipping it.

So, if anyone in the US has a decent iBook they're willing to let go for a low price (since this is a side project and he's a grad student on a pretty limited income, he's hoping for $100 or less), let me know.

I've got plenty of components and casing pieces, so all I *really* need is a working motherboard and power supply. If it's a G3, an Airport card as well would be nice.

If you've got a fully functional iBook that you can let go on the cheap, though, that'd be better. Shipping would be to 47907.
For all the trash I talk, I sure own a lot of Macs...

I've got an iBook G4 with broken latch. 12", 1.0 GHz, 512 RAM, 80 (or 100?) GB Hard Drive, airport extreme...

I was looking for $150 shipped. Noticed you were also looking for a Wacom tablet... I've also got a Intous3 6x8 that I was looking for $170 shipped for. If you wanna pick em both up, we can probably come to a good deal on em.

The graphics tablet thing was only if I could get one pretty cheaply - over $100 is probably more than I should be spending right now (although I probably should avoid spending at all, given that we're about to move to a pretty expensive area).

How much would you take (including shipping) for the iBook? Do you have a power adapter and battery for it? What condition is the battery in (not sure how relevant that is to my friend, but I figure I may as well ask)?
