Congratulations on the forum upgrade!
I wanted to put out this warning that "Hide Email Address" defaults to "no", so that it would be visible in the public profile.

I'm pretty sure I had this set to hide before if that was available, so the preference was not carried over.

Well, now that I test this further, it doesn't look like the email address is shown, like it states in the "Edit Options" section of the User Center. The option determines whether others can send you an email through a form, but if allowed, doesn't seem to show your address.

there is a global setting currently hiding all email addresses which overrides individual users' settings, so it doesn't really matter. it is still possible to send email to another user with the form via their profile, but a users' address is kept hidden for privacy.
