This will let you know that I am a regular reader of the MacNN Reader Forums. I find that the information posted and manner in which it is posted a compliment to all involved. Thank you all for a forum that is useful, informative, and intertaining.

I do have an observation that leans a bit to the negative. Maybe, there is something that can done to address the following.

At least often enough to be noticed, someone posts something that requires the use of the horizontal scroll bar for the post to be read. This distracts greatly from the pleasure of reading the post. Can something be done to better assure that the text of a post is confined to the amount of space that is allocated to the forum window so that horizontal scrolling is not necessary?

we already have a limit on word length to force text lines to wrap. problems often arise with oversized images, though. i don't think it would be practical to implement something which would automatically filter oversized images (vB only has a feature for limiting avatar dimensions). when someone posts an oversized image, just urge them to replace it with a link to the image. if there are places where it seems a real problem, you can also ask a moderator to do this.

mac freak, The notion of over sized images never interred my head. I understand your explanation.

Thanks for quick reply.

Note that vB now has a user option (in "User Options" in your User Center) that lets you specify whether you want to view inline images at all. If you check it to no, then all images will show up as links to the image instead, which will all but solve this "wide page" issue for you.

Gorgonzola, thanks for the reply. I checked what you suggested. Here is the result.
