It's a custom one that we wrote. Some creative genius named it "MacNN Publisher." It's not available for download (because it's pretty useless to anyone but us).

you guys built it from the ground up ?
you didn't base it on an existing CMS or at least model it after something?

All available CMS scripts are easily hacked, so creating your own is a logical step.
I always use protection when fscking my Mac... Do you?

It's pretty old now. I wasn't around here then, but I'd wager that really solid PHP/SQL CMS software wasn't as widespread as it is now when this was written. Just a guess, though.

But yes, it's from scratch.

hmm,

still and all...
i'd be surprised if it weren't based on an existing project.
that's kind of unusual that you work here and you don't know the history of the technology. even if that history were a circa date and a team leader and directive.

anyway,

it's like the east coast crew right here;
you from new yawk , you...other dude - from new jersey, i live in the hudson river...

I know some of the history, I just don't know the exact reasons why it wasn't based on an existing CMS system. But it does offer certain advantages ... no gratuitous preferences, tailored down to our needs, we know where everything is so we can upgrade what we want easily, etc.
