Hovering over any of the 'Instant vB Code' buttons (on the Post New Thread page) in IE 5.2.1 produces the following error message:

'document.vbform.status' is not an object

I get the same. See here.

Try mousing over the "instant vb code' buttons on IE 5.5sp2 with Microsoft Script Debugger installed on Windows 2000 while trying to reply to a post. You get an alert box "document.vbform.status is null or not an object". Woops, someone forgot to check for the existence of document.vbform.status before trying to modify it. It's a bug, but not everyone complains about it because unless you're in the environment I mentioned earlier, you won't see it. I have tried with IE 5.2 and OmniWeb from my Mac at home and have no problems. [/B]
Ah. So that's the problem. I have this problem on Windows XP Pro with IE 6.0 when surfing here. I will try to figure out how to deactivate it.

I get this error consistently on MacNN. I've noticed it elsewhere, but only rarely.

Is this a bug of Windows, the MacNN forums, or both?
