I'm getting a lot of these errors lately:

There seems to have been a slight problem with the MacNN Forums database.

Is it me, or are there issues with the server?

we were trying to "upgrade" the search index from a 3-character minimum to a 2-character minimum. unfortunately, the server has just not managed to get through that reindexing, and unless it successfully completes its reindexing process, you are left without any index. this is what causes the database errors every time you try to search.
having given up on building the 2-char min index we are now in the process of rebuilding a 3-char min index. if all works, the process will complete sometime sunday, probably.

It's not possible to create the new index in a temporary directory and replace the old one when it's done?

I think I fixed the primary cause of the search error (corrupted database), but am not sure. I tried a few searches and it worked. Let me know if you find other problems.

best,

A bunch of posts in OSX Software seem to be unreachable.

I know that there are a few threads in there with "OmniWeb" in the title, but I'm only getting one thread about OmniWeb and .mac.
