I just lost iTools and I won't be paying for dot mac since all I need is a place to upload and post images from. So I have Yahoo Photo (? or something like that). It's free and I can post images on places like FARK where HTML is required to post images, but when I try to post on a UBB board (like this one) it doesn't work.

So is there some "trick" to it or can HTML be enabled?
"Devil ether, it makes you behave like the village drunkard in some early Irish novel. Total loss of all basic motor skills. Blurred vision. No balance. Numb Tongue. The mind recoills in horror. Unable to communicate with the spinal column. Which is interresting, because you can watch yourself behaving in this terrible way, but you can't control it"

HTML will never be enabled... massive security hole.

Find a different host. HostMB or something.

Are you sure you need HTML in there? Doesn't just putting the URL of the picture in the IMG tags work?

HostMB doesn't allow hotlinking, Cipher, and they've been getting really picky about bandwidth usage anyway recently.

If you sign up for AIM, you get some free space at mypages.netscape.com or something similar.

I don't know, I run and pay for my own hosting

arrested...why not switch your isp to a company that will give you a few MBs of web space for free?

Someone in the lounge mentioned freeshell.org the other day...could you host your images from a free web account there?

Just enclose the link to the image with img tags instead of HTML image tags. A full explanation of UBB code is available in the FAQ (linked at the top of every page), but the basic idea is this (remove the spaces in the tags, I need that or else it'll try to render it):

As for freeshell.org, they do indeed provide a hosting service, among a number of other really fantastic services; I've been using them for a while now, and I have nothing but good things to say about their price, performance, quality, and responsiveness. It's a nonprofit organization, but there is a fee so they can keep providing services. If Yahoo Photo or whatever doesn't let you link like this (which it seems it does, if you can do it other places with HTML), look into other hosting options.
