considering the amount of software threads in this forum, i would hardly call the OS X forum "moderated" at all.

sort it out, eh?

What really bothers me about these forums is a lack of moderation. Although, given the software MacNN is using for its forums, I don't suppose much can be done. I think Slashdot's style of moderation works well. But then again, these forums don't even seem to support nesting replies and such, everything is just posted below the next post.

You guys could help by - like - not posting to the wrong forums !

Anyway, you're right. I don't have the time to moderate all the sorry-ass discussions here any more, and have been thinking about resigning. If you'd like to step in to take my place then please contact the administrators.

I noticed a bunch of the OT stuff has been locked. That's a good thing to do every so often, obviously.

Last few days it has been chaos around here.

There are certain times when the mods need to be around more--like big Apple product announcements. This is always when the threads proliferate and double up and are in the wrong forum etc. What's the big deal Gee4orce? You mod the forum a bit more around these times and that's it.
i look in your general direction

Does this even belong in Mac OS X? and a mod posted a reply and didn't lock or move it? whats going on?

anyway I agree. I know people who still get mac, power mac, macintosh and apple mixed up and to switchers who find this by doing an msn or google search and see mac os x and software and powermac they don't know any better and the fact that threads that somewhat sound like threads they need are listed because the mods don't move them fast enough so more threads are listed wrong.

Never could understand why people like nested replies so much, it's such a total pain in the a$$ to read.

Sure hope MacNN never moves to a nested system...

maybe i was making a point about the huge amount of off-topic threads, in the very forum it's happening in?

I know.

and maybe I was making a point that mods comment on topics that are in the wrong forum and then a few days and 30 something post later move it to the right forum.

It already did move to a nested system. Everyone hated it. It was frustrating. They turned it back off again after a month.
