"Reporting Abuse" makes me feel like a snitch.

How's about "Contact Moderator about this thread"

You could even have a checklist on the other side:

1) Message is in wrong fourm
2) Duplicate thread
3) Flames
4) Stupid Flames
5) Abuse
6) OMGWTFBBQ post

You get the idea.

Not that I ever use the "report abuse" link, but I think it's appropriate.

Exactly... cause it makes you feel like a snitch.

but I think it's appropriate.
I guess I agree. There should be an abuse hotline. But I was thinking maybe the mods would like a little assistance in the non abuse department. They certainly could have used it last week.

I think there are a bunch of people who would help netcop in a positive way: i.e. alerting moderators to threads that need to be moved, or locked because of repetition.

These things are not abuse, but probably casue more "damage" to the fourms on a post by post basis. I'd be willing to help, but I'm not going to click "Report Abuse", and I think a general policy of PMing the mods is too invasive.

The best we have now is going "mod... Mod... MOD!" and hope someone is listening.
