I would like to change my avatar name (for privacy reasons) but without losing my post count. I have invested quite some time building recognition and wouldn't want to loose it. Possible?

PM me with what you'd want your new account name to be. i can always transfer postcount.
but if i don't like your new name, i reserve the right to lower your post count to -100 and change your name to 'SillyPants'.

IIRC, a guy named JoeG4 figured out how to do that a while ago. All you have to do is annoy the moderators by constantly posting crap just to raise your post count. Eventually they give you a negative post count as a punitive measure. However, if that was your intent in the first place...

Now how would that affect my account? Wouldn't that create a name collision in the database?
Can I have my -100 post count, now?

Members are stored by member ID, not username.

Since no one cares... I created a new account. Only problem is I can't use my main email address because there can be only one account per email address.
Let's see how many years it takes to get the post count back to 300...
