Twice I've gotten the dreaded "PM box full" email, and lost a message each time. Increasing the box size would be a temporary solution, the real problems are twofold:
  • There is no way to tell how close you are to the limit.
  • The first bounced message is not preserved anywhere.
Put these two together, and the only way you can find out for sure that your box is full, is that you have to lose a message.

I'd suggest two changes to fix the annoyances:
  • Add a text "%full" indicator to the PM section.
  • Accept the first over-limit message, in addition to sending out the email. And put the bounced PMs in the dreaded emails.
Together, we can defeat the evil PM system. It's eating my invaluable and important messages. I just know that those messages were from the Lottery people.
