Pep Boys killed my car and refuses to compensate me
------------------------------------------------------------------------

To: Pep Boys-Manny, Moe & Jack

I am writing to inform you of a a problem I had with the quality at Pep Boys-Manny, Moe & Jack, located at Pep Boys Automotive
5220 Touhy Ave
Skokie, IL 60077
(847) 675-5300..
This is what happened. I brought my 93 Ford Explorer XLT into Pep Boys for service. I was told that my water pump was bad and needed replacement. I was also told that there was a problem with a valve in one of the pistons but they did not do this sort of work. I went ahead and told them to replace the water pump. I went and picked up my Explorer. Several miles from there I noticed that the engine heat gague was the highest it could be. I pulled into the local service station and asked the mechanic if he could take a look why. The next afternoon he called me to tell me that my radiator had *no coolant* in it at all and this is the cause for the overheating. In addition, he found that the overheating had cracked the head gasket and cause signifigant other damage, over and above the origional engine issues. The recipt from Pep Boys clearly states that they added in coolant, however this obviously was never done. In addition, two days after getting my car back from the local mechanic, while on vacation, my transmission (also cooled from the radiator) died and I had to get a replacment at cost of $2300. I lost 4 days of vacation and was stranded in the middle of Colorado. I had to rent a car, motel room and the aggravation was horrible.
I doubt seriously that I will return as a customer. And I will tell everyone I know to stay away from your shop.
Here's what I'm asking your company to do. Completely and totally reimburse me for all damages to the engine and the transmission as a result of no coolant. I am willing to absorb the cost of the rental car, motel room and lost time of my vacation.
I hope you can address this problem quickly. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

maybe he has parkinson's and clicked "feedback" by mistake instead of "lounge".
I could take Sean Connery in a fight... I could definitely take him.

Nothing. I meant to put it in the lounge. Sheesh, you'd think I almost killed someone! Close it if you like.
