I would just love to have a forum, where if something came up someone would be able to answer it. I bought the book "ibook for dummies" and I hope to learn some from that, but alot of stuff you the experts/users could probably be more help. just a thought.

Perhaps you could post any questions about iBook in the MacNN's iBook Forum
There's lot of experienced people there

Yeah, it would just end up being redundant. You can post a question about any topic you like in any of our forums -- we have one for everything -- and if you're not sure, feel free to ask in here.
Any questions about your iBook would go to the iBook forum; any questions about Mac OS X itself (e.g. what files should I back up when back up?) go into Mac OS X; questions about Unix stuff in OS X go into Unix; general Mac stuff that doesn't fit elsewhere (comments about the new G5 commercial or something) can go in the Lounge. Hope that gives you an idea.

Then perhaps, a group of people can compile a FAQs file for the forums and have it posted as a sticky.

That was meant to be done a long time ago, but there was no support from the administration team (when I say a long time ago, I mean in the order of years... ).
I'd be glad to write a little for it...

A FAQ may not be neccessary when you can use the search feature. But alas, I do like the idea of having a FAQ, where I can just link to the FAQ page instead of telling someone to search.

I like the idea. If it was large enough it could serve as a reference for intermediate users as well as newbie switchers. I'm starting a thread in the Lounge on this; please continue FAQ discussion there.
