I'm having a hard time to add my Avatar, I did go to "my user edit" and i saw "Avatar" but i couldn't add or do something about it. how can I add one?? Please help me out, thanks.

What's wrong with avatars? They stay out of the way of the area where you read, and if the length of the post is long enough, an avatar won't make the page longer vertically, but a signature will always add to the length of a page.

Avatars remove the professionalism.

Take a look at http://forums.whirlpool.net.au and tell me that doesn't look professional.

Avatars would extend the minimum size of every single post in the forum far more than the small sized signatures do.

In a short post, a sig image starts above the bottom line of text in the left-hand panel of the post area.

And sigs just look cleaner.

I like the sigs.

If you want to see the most horrible forum ever where single line posts span more than a page... check out the ones at DiabloWorld.
