One concern is that we do NOT want people attaching images of unauthorized software by uploading it to our servers. We do not want to be hosting any Panther screenshots or anything like that. Resources are less of an issue.
So while the feature would have some legitimate uses, we'd have to cripple it to only allow images of a certain size and certain dimensions, and even then it would be too hard to police.
If you're looking for cheap, powerful web hosting, try
SDF. They've been around for years and years, and for $1 you can get 20 MB web / 20 MB home / 20 MB POP3 email space. It gives you a Unix SSH account to use as well, but $1 for lifetime access to 20 MB of web hosting is not half bad. For $36, you get lifetime ARPA membership, which is really excellent. There are a lot of other places that have good prices too, but I have experience with SDF and I don't think the $1 deal is something you'll find easily elsewhere.
