I dont understand how a forum this large can run off of software that does not support thread tracking. Plain and simple, i post all the time and sometimes i take a day off, later i forget about a post and i never get to read the responses. How about fixing the software so that i can open a page of all the threads that i last posted to??

Two examples of implementation:

1) Anandtech Forums "Today" screen shows the last 20 threads that you started/posted to and their status (# of replies, most recent reply etc)

2)Audiworld (and this is the best implementation custom written software)

When you post a thread or a reply on audiworld (and this is an option) the thread in question is automatically "tracked" and if a response is made to it that you have not read yet, it will bring that thread to the top of your forum screen. there is also a page where you can view all of your currently "tracked" threads.

Many other forums allow you to subscribe to a thread, how about that capability here?

It is very possible that this forum has it and i am unable to figure out how to do it,

is it possible to accomplish this?

doesn't the 'subscribe to this' link let you, uh, subscribe?

but I agree with your larger point--a link to view threads you participated in would be nice (apart from just searching for them by username, which can be done).

Currently, the icons for "A thread you participated in" and "New posts on this topic" are inactive on the thread index screens.

When will these be re-activated?

The problem as I see it with the current subscriptions is that they will only show up in that list if there are new replies since you last looked at the thread. How about a list that shows all the threads that I am subscribed to regardless of new replies?

How did it come to this? Goodbye PowerPC. | sensory output

Also...when you reply to a subscribed thread for the second+ time, you have to remember to always re-click the "Subscribe to this thread" checkbox or it will remove your subscription.

When I reply to a subscribed thread again, it should remember that I am subscribed and click that box for me. I can't remember how many times I have forgotten about a thread just because I forgot to re-check that box...

IF I remember correctly, for some reason using those icons, or I guess it was the thread tracking, not the icons themselves, slowed the forum to a crawl. I don't think a work around was ever found.

In that case, shouldn't all references to those functions be removed for consistency?
