oooh, purty.

the idea has been thrown around. it would, of course, just take some time to customize it with our own macnn look (an updated one). i'll ask the head cheese about it.

We always wait for a few months after a new major release is out, because there are always numerous bug fixes and patches they end up releasing. Not to mention that upgrading to 3.0 will be a relatively large time commitment because of all the new templates we will have to modify. We'll also need to make sure we're up to speed on all the new features and changes (especially on the admin end) before we jump into anything.

Soon, though. Few months. We're keeping an eye on 3.0.

Well, but the usual volunteers could start the customization already so there's no pressure later.

I'd generally concur with Gorg on this one, but I'm a little less cautious. My vote is to wait until the 3.01 or 3.02 release, which I expect will be sooner than a few months.

Xeo stole the grey ones so I had to use black. I was the only person left with the original red stars so I felt left out of the custom stars orgy taking place in the mod forum. ;p

Maybe I will switch back, though. Now I'm starting to miss my red ones.

DH is working on the new site design/upgrade to v3...he was hoping to have something out by the end of August, but that didn't happen. Maybe end of the September?

when you update the macnn look for vB 3 please include some way to get directly from the "find new posts" listing of threads to the first unread post.

And navigation depth links at the bottom of the threads.

Like these: MacNN Forums > Community > Feedback > vBulletin 3.0.0 'Gold'

Currently you only see them at the very top of the thread.

The current one is very drab. vBulletin seems to be very square and not very customisable.

They're timing it for the release of the G5 PB.
