Um, how are we supposed to know what word it is you're complaining about being censored?

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

Oh jeebus. I didn't realize the link was getting censored.

At the risk of being baninnated, the word in question is "mung".

From the Wikipedia.

**** (or munge) is computer jargon for "to make repeated changes which individually may be reversible, yet which ultimately result in an unintentional irreversible destruction of large portions of the original item." It was created in 1958 at the Tech Model Railroad Club, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 1960, the backronym "Mash Until No Good" was created to describe ****, and a while after that it was revised to "**** Until No Good"—making it one of the few recursive acronyms.

Ah, yes. I've actually wondered about that too. I used it once, and it got censored, so I figured it probably had some other meaning that I just didn't know about.

Hmmm. Can't say I had.

Seeing as how the non-urban meaning of the word is both older and computer related, or is referring to relatively harmless legume, isn't the censor being a tad... overzealous?

yes. and while this has been educational to some, i don't think we need to discuss this further.
the word doesn't get used often, but hey, there are some pretty funny words in the censor list as it is. but they're not for virgin eyes like you fine upstanding folks

I have to take exception to this censored word. Frankly, most people who aren't South Park nuts have never heard it, and frankly, the only thing I've ever heard of mung is the bean that cellophane noodles are made from. It should be removed from the censorship list.
