Since the upgrade, I've been getting email whenever someone posts to a thread I've posted to. I went into "User CP" (I had to guess what that meant) and told it not to email me about replies in subscribed threads. It still emails me. So now I've told it not to subscribe to threads. Will it keep emailing me? We'll see.

It may not stop emailing from threads that you replied to prior to changing the setting, so I would go back and edit the posts, selecting no email notification. Just a thought.

You can easily remove all your currently subscribed threads by going to:
http://forums.macnn.com/subscription...p;folderid=all

and hitting the check all box, and then selecting delete subscriptions from the dropdown menu.

Much easier than manually going through each of the last several threads you've posted in. : )
Here's to the crazy ones..

Maybe I'm stupid, but I don't see a "check all" box on the subscriptions page. Nor do I see a dropdown menu that will let me delete subscriptions.

This is stupid, I'm still getting daily emails (spam) from Macnn.com in my mailbox even though I told it not to send email, and not to subscribe to anything. I have enough crap in my mailbox already; maybe I should put a fake email address in my user profile.

Edit: I found the option to delete subscriptions. Hardly obvious. Let's hope that works.

you can also configure it so no new subscriptions are automatically created.

Spam, by definition, is "unsolicited commercial email". The unsolicited part is a weird error that happened, but the messages are in no way "commercial": they are not trying to sell you anything.

You cannot use a fake email address: if you change it, you will be required to re-confirm the account using a link delivered to that address. We are forced to do this to reduce banned users from re-registering.

P.S. The "select all" box is the checkbox in the teal header above the individual checkboxes. If you click it, all the checkboxes check for you. And the "Selected threads:" menu seems perfectly intuitive to me...
