Forums are the biggest part of Macnn. Why hide it in a tiny little link? How else are you going to have people come back to Macnn.com if they did not notice the forum link?
Make Forums a bigger part of the front page to Macnn

Thanks. I wanted new visitors to find the forums easier, and make them click and discover out of curiosity. We, Macnn users, are already addicted to this board already, so it takes a lot for us to not find the boards.

Good thoughts here. I know that MacNN usually has a list of "important" forum topics listed on the front page and that usually pulls in the readers. That is what got me here 5 years ago!
