OK, you don't want anymore threads about the Mac/Intel thing but what about a sticky of software that has been recompiled to Universal Binary?

So far, I've read that Luxology and Merlin have already gotten a recompiled version ready.

Entirely pointless right now. We don't need a sticky that's gonna be around for a year before it becomes useful.

Tooki, about the only thing that really seems pointless to me right now is your idea of how to mod the forum.

You don't know all the things we have to consider. A simple, no-nonsense policy is the only fair one, and the only one we can administer consistently.

Besides, the main reason for being hard-asses with new product announcements is simply that most of the threads do nothing but ask the same questions that have been asked before, or make the same comments that have been made before, or to link to the same articles that have been linked to before.

We don't need that. A few threads always end up containing all the discussion, the others almost never add anything new.

Your locking of the various Apple - Intel threads is anything but simple, or no-nonsense. A little example: The thread on people deciding to leave Apple went all over the place, but eventually degenerated into the usual MacNN mess or personal hatreds. You didn't lock it. The thread on Siracusa's PPC lament was also going all over the place, yet you didn't lock it. Then, a thread on the leaked x86 OSX came up, which was genuinely a new topic, but you locked it. Someone started a thread asking about software being ported to Intel and you locked it....

Based on your logic there should be only one thread on Michael Jackson, one thread on Hot Porn Babes, one thread on Cars, one thread on TV etc.

The gist of the matter is that your policies are both childish and make no logical sense whatsoever especially since you don't actually apply them consistently.

And please spare us the corny line of how hard your life as an admin is. If your life as an admin is hard it is very likely because you are unable to cope with the fact that life doesn't fit into your mental organisational capabilities or lack thereof, and you should therefor give up the post to someone else.

Having missed something doesn't mean it was seen. Obviously none of us has seen what that thread became. It's because I haven't seen it, not because it was condoned.

Second, you aren't going to convince me. Stop wasting our time.

How much of the lounge is useful? Useful to me? To you? To theolein? To anybody?

Useful is eniterly subjective. So is interesting. Just because it bugs the hell out of you doesn't mean everyone else feels the same way.
