Crack Down on IBL posts

Mods should crach down on IBL posts, they add nothing to the topic, and derail them. They are rude to the orginal poster and do not look good for new members.
If some one has no interest in a post move on. Others might find it interesting.

because not all of them are topics about to be locked. Case in point I found one that was interesting to me and responded to it, mean while 3 people posted IBL posts and one of those stupid pictures. It pissed me off enough that I report all 3 of them because there was no reason for it at all.

I myself get IBL or Timeline in my threads. It doesn't bother me.
It usually means I need to search teh forum, or make a better thread.
Most of the time, good threads don't get IBL.
Maybe we need a rating system?

I suggest replacing IBL with "Christ, I'm sweet," or XIS for short. Whenever someone says +1 or IBL, that's what they really mean anyway.

inane threads will die quickly if there is no one who has interest in it. Of course they wont die quickly when inane people post IBL in them. And for those who have a interest in it, seeing a bunch of IBL posts bugs them. Not to mention it bugs the poster usally as well. Dont like a thread, move on, dont post anything.

For serious discussions, yes. But when someone is lazy and posts the 873rd "new Apple product" thread? When someone posts one of the "Elvis is a (fill in the blank) post?
It's not as if every thread is full of IBL. I'd say rather than crack down on people who post IBLs, crack down on those who create the threads which other registered members are commenting on in a negative manner.
Now, I would advocate a few things.
1) Posts in the war lounge and lounge in general shouldn't count for posting numbers.
2) There should be greater emphasis by the mods on controlling inane threads.
3) Lounge-type stuff should not be accepted nor tolerated in the general Mac forums.
4) Multiple threads on the same subject should be weeded out,
Now, you are just suggesting curing the symptoms and not the underlying problems.
