Demonhood had the ugly "feature" turned off by default when vB3 was rolled out; however, it's obviously been turned back on by somebody accidentally (at least, I'm guessing). Demonhood was going to investigate how that happened and slap the person on the wrist...with his tail.

I agree. Ratings display as currently implemented is ugly and clutters the lounge.

I agree with Kevin. BTW what happened to the mouse-over excerpt that we used to have after the change to vB3? And where are things like go to last unread post?

None of us know how ratings got turned on -- none of us did it. Probably a DB error.
Anyway, the rollover previews, while cool, turned out to be really annoying, because they'd incessantly obscure things around them.
I don't know what happened to Last Unread Post.

Ratings are a neat idea, for sure. But they're too easy to abuse (certainly not a reliable indicator of thread value), and we didn't take them into account in our layouts, so they looked out of place.
