I do not understand tooki's reasoning for locking this thread: http://forums.macnn.com/89/macnn-lounge/277531/digital-camera-recommendation/
Cameras are not explicitly used with computers. Cameras are not connected to computers to work. By his rational, any discussions of anything that could be attatched to a computer is a peripheral.
My parents use their camera without ever connecting it to a computer. They take the memory chip to the local developer and have their pictures developed that way. And most cameras can be connected to a printer without being connected to a computer in anyway.
I could understand if the original poster asked which camera worked best with iPhoto or if certain cameras were Mac compatible or not. But that wasn't the question.
Please unlock the thread.

Sorry to reply to my own post, but...
Now this thread fits the tooki guidelines for a violation. And it is a repeat of a previous thread the same poster started a short while ago.

Actually, I was about to comment on this myself.
1) A digital camera is NOT necessarily a peripheral. I can take the memory card out of my camera and pop it into my Dell monitor, making the camera a seperate device.
2) Why wasn't that thread MOVED into the Peripherals section? There was already a nice discussion going on.

This is a Mac forum. In this context, digital cameras are peripherals. (Besides, almost nobody uses them without the computer, at least now.)

However, the "mobiles" thread was directly associated with connecting to Macs.

I wouldn't say lacking but inconsistant, the rules are applied unevenly to threads and people. Some threads are just so out of place but continue to live, some people continue to be here unbanned even though they have a total disregard to the rules.
