I have no problem receiving that sort of comment: it's so much more a blatant embarrassment to the poster than anything else.

Racist comments are similar embarrassments, but also stir up the kind of hatred the world doesn't need any more of. (True of the blanket religious attacks, too.)

How about a response from MODERATORS: are no racist attacks considered out of bounds?

How about responses from other MEMBERS: should they be?

You are the one who made a mistake and made racist statements. And you're too pigheaded to admit it or apologize for it. And I don't mean apologizing for "hurting my feelings". You didn't do that. You made disparaging remarks towards a whole race of people. Are you proud of those statements? Do you really think that about that race? Do you really think the Mexicans have never done anything?

And I am not dropping this until either you apologize and promise not to make these kinds of statements again or a mod weighs in and tells me to stop.

I wouldn't say absent of proff but rather I did not see those particular posts (and I didn't search). At worst they are borderline racist at best incredibly insensative which seems to be a common denominator here at Macnn.

calling someone a racist, is also the use of a pejorative, usually inaccurately. All the anti-hater haters, just make me sick, because they never quite get it, do they.

Well you just don't understand the purpose of tolerance do you. The reason you don't go around trying to shut down speech, is because it never ends. You never lived in a country where speech was censored for the good of society. If you did, you would quickly discover it doesn't benefit society at all. The solution is worse than the problem.

That doesn't mean someone is advocating membership in the KKK< but you are free to say what you want....for now.

While I'm no ca$h fan because of his remarks belittling my faith; you seem to go out of your way to provoke, insult and belittle him. I hate to call you out but as a Christian it is incumbant upon you to forgive ca$h for anything he's done against you.
Second you posted a thread asking about racist comments (which are wrong and hateful) yet you post hateful comments about ca$h and others. I think the golden rule really applies here and things could get a little better here if the bickering is reduced.

While their are people who purposely post things to get a rise out of people, there's no need to provoke them with insults. As I learned in grade school if you ignore them they go away eventually.
