Why is every thread being locked lately in the Feedback forum?
I have news for you, even complaints are feedback. You could learn something from them and possibly find out of other members are experiencing the same problems or having the same issues.
As it is, a new thread needs to be started if you want to comment on someone else's feedback thread if it has been locked.
If you don't want complaints here, the forum should be titled "The Positive Suggestions Only Forum".

if you read any of the recent threads, you would know why.
most of them were locked to consolidate all the mainpage redesigns into one thread.
a few were the complaints of a banned member.
hardly squelching complaints.

That's usually because people start bickering in the thread and it no longer is discussing anything at all.

Thank you for editing yourself.
Bickering can be constructive sometimes. It's when it devolves into name calling and insults, you are right, is when a thread deserves to be locked. But that is really just one or two members and one of them gets banned often.
P.S. Thank you for the PMs and starightening things out. I appreciate it.

Locking this thread would be a perfectly delicious ending.

Agreed. I was going to suggest it in my last post, but I thought that the irony would be lost on too many people.

1) As I said in my PM, my patience has run out. I looked at it again and realized it was perhaps too harsh.
2) Bickering is by definition useless. Actually discussing things is good. But that almost never happens here. A few folks come in and derail EVERY SINGLE feedback thread in order to discus their feelings of being victimized, singled out, etc. While there is no truth to those claims, no amount of us saying that it's not true will convince them, so they continue to hijack every thread here.
3) You're welcome. I am always willing to discuss things when people are actually willing to listen and believe me.

I can see locking the threads in the feedback forum. Its not the lounge and its use is to provide feedback.
While unfortunate, I think the bickering is the last stage of communicating our frustrations. Tookie may think its playing the victim but overall I think we need a way to provide feedback. Granted these threads do degrenerate and lose their original focus, so locking after a while seems to fit into what this forum is for.

There are two kinds of bickering that happen in Feedback threads:
1) bickering with mods/admins: Someone asks a question. We answer. Someone (usually not the OP) calls us liars or otherwise refuses to believe what we say, and/or starts arguing some little point (like, ahem, the definition of pornography, something that has eluded lawmakers for centuries), rather than just accepting the Big Picture we have drawn.
2) bickering amongst themselves: Someone takes the thread totally off topic, and uses it to continue personal disputes.
In the case of 1), the situation often ends up with us saying the same things repeatedly because we really do tell you the truth here, and insisting that there's a conspiracy, and for us to come clean, will never get anywhere because there is no conspiracy to expose. Asking us to explain things (like why Someone⢠got banned) over and over is stupid: it's always the same answer, and if they won't even believe our answers anyway, why bother? So we close threads that are just repeats known to get nowhere.
Number 2) is clearly out of line, and does not belong here.

Brian says (9:16 AM): I was looking at houses in Ottawa... I actually have a temptation in me to move
Jeff ******* says (9:19 AM): Eww, Ottawa is gross. It's infested with politicians, and presently, 1 Harper as well.
