I just read the review of the Griffin PowerBlock and can't get over the almost complete lack of grammar. This by someone, Ilene Hoffman, who is supposed to be an editor!

Here's some examples of things for which any serious publication would fire a writer let alone an editor:

"It uses about 1/3" of space that Apple’s adapter does"

"It is about 2 1/2” long though, so if used in a surge suppressor,..."

"It seems to be better made than my Apple cable also."

"It does accommodate an iPod shuffle easily though."

"The only missing piece is a little case for it to live within."

Ok. I doubt the MacNN news editors read this, but ok...

Well, some punctuation aside, those are grammatical sentences/phrases. What they are, though, is in a completely inappropriate style and register for a news publication.

This is an informal forum where users can help each other out, in a kind, friendly way. Get over poxy punctuation mistakes!

He's actually complaining about the front page for Macnn.com.

Personally, I never view the page as I find macintouch.com a more reliable source and less opinionated. But some people like the tabloid journalism that MacNN provides.
