PM them and ask them why. They usually have a very good reason for doing so. Stop spamming the feedback forum. It's very childish and ineffective.

Mods: Keep up the good work. I know it can't be easy trying to regulate this many threads.

Imagine that. Feedback on how the site is run in the Feedback forum.

Seriously, if people aren't allowed to "whine" here, the title of the forum seems kind of deceptive.

chuckit has a good point there.

The answer is simple: If you have an issue with something someone did, PM them. If you feel you have a legit complaint about the way they acted and they don't respond, take it up with an admin.
If you have feedback that relates to multiple users or system wide stuff, that goes here. The fact that you take issue with a mod merging posts is to be taken up with that mod.

Thanks.

And I think even more importantly: providing feedback is not the same as whining.

The closed threads were pure, unadulterated whining, and we really don't need that.

okay, may i have feedback from you please than? since this is the feedback place, why was bstone banned? your feedback about my question can be ether sent to me in pm (since this seems to be the only way to do feedback anymore for some people) or can be posted here.

btw, tooki, you are the only one that is calling our feedbacks whining, well you and the brownnoser. scottheking called it, we had an issue with something system related (mods/admins ARE part of the system are they not?) and we posted feedback here, and they were locked, AND my threads did indeed stay in the guidelines but yet were locked anyways. if no threads about others is the reason than why isn't the tooki heavy handed locking thread closed? true, its adressed to him, but as the title of the thread implies, it is a thread about him, and isnt that a reason to lock a thread? i'm just really dissapointed in the going ons here. i think Nick saw what was comming and decided to high tail it out of here before it got out of control.

Try not to be a hypocrite.

Between you and CoC, six threads popped up as XXX no no no. It was childish and annoying. The feedback forum is for the overall improvement of the forum. If you have a problem with a mod, then IM them.

Just when I was losing faith in Macnn, err rather the membership of Macnn, we have a couple of people whining about thread mergers/closers. This forum was getting a little boring, so I'd like to thank Chewy and brassplayerrocks for their immature whining. It certainly added a smile to my face this evening

What is lacking is a kind of Discussion page like they have on Wikipedia. The page may be protected or locked, but you still can discuss it "behind the scene" on a related sub-forum without cluttering anything else. Many times I would have relevant comment to formulate over the Lockination™ of some threads but to discuss it publicly, I would have to create a second one (I don't think the mods would appreciate that) or clutter the Feedback forum with countless threads..

you know thats not true 100% of the time. And because some mods some of the time leave out who locked it, the feed back forum is the only real place to find out why.

Exactly. If the "no, no, no" threads were childish, tookie's and the other thread-locking happy mods were equally as such. I can understand someone being upset about their posts being tampered with without permission. Oh, and funny that bit about deleting my post (-Honestly, I did think it was quite humorous).

This place just continues to smell worse. Despite claims to the contrary, I cannot see how you've changed for the better. Be sure, it is the other friendly posters here that keep me checking up here, definitely not the administration. Oh, and get ahold of yourself-- Disobedience? Please talk clear and on the level. We're all equal here, and there's no reason to foster an air of unnecessary authority and superiority here. It will (and in fact, has before) turn people off.

Bstone (aka CoC) was banned for repeatedly ignoring mods' and admins' telling him to knock it off. He was given ample warning, and he chose to ignore it, and so I gave him a weekend ban. He chose to evade that ban, and one of the mods chose to follow precedent and give him a month long ban for ban evasion.

Good point. I also think Moderators should take their name more seriously. Closing threads because they seem useless to oneself is lame. The structure of the forum flushes down the not interesting threads; sometimes initially very sense-free threads turn into something worthwhile (the "Der deutschsprachige Thread" is an example). On the other side bumping of dead beaten horses is allowed
