I note that some of these aren't as heavily political as the ones in the Politics lounge, so are the mods becoming more lenient on what qualifies for the main lounge? Just wondrin'.

I say close both of them. I hate the way PL/L threads clutter up the New Posts function. I bet the PL/L threads also repel a large number of potential members.

The New Posts function forces me to wade through all the PL/L threads. There's no way for me to filter them out.

You're assuming that all the people who live in the Lounge are capable of doing more than debating subjective baloney. Check out Taliesin's posting history for example and tell me how he's contributed to the Mac community.

Yeah, there are a lot of people here who do nothing but post in the Lounge. Spliffdaddy, for instance, doesn't even use Macs.

I concur. I spend 99.99% of my time here in the lounge.
That's because I use a Mac and it just doesn't go wrong, so there's no real need to regularly visit the other forums. I'll check the A/V section to see if there's anything I can help out with but most of the time folks are looking for answers about consumer-level stuff, which I can't help with.
