What's the deal with this little thread? It got closed for no apparent reason. No justification given either. What's the deal? Did somebody just get up in a shitty mood? Sense of professionalism? Hello? Anybody home?

Scott you didn't seem to matter until you were being busted for being a slite ass-hat in said thread.

You made a snitty comment yesterday and didn't lock it.

You didn't lock it until people started calling you out for said comment.

And if it was in the wrong forum, why not just move it?

That's nonsense. And besides, you didn't move it, you locked it.

Of course speculation about the upcoming Power Mac replacement belong in that forum. Just as MBP speculation goes in the MBP forum, iPod speculation goes in the iPod forum, heck even Zune speculation is in the iPod forum.

I expect the thread be opened again immediately. There is no good reason against not having it there. You have vented your attitude on people here enough for one day. Why don't you go cool off some place else and come back here when you have regained the capability to act as a mod. In the meantime, the contributors and readers of the upcoming 'Power Mac' speculation thread would like their thread back.

It wasn't until I came to MacNN that I learned the definition of the word "pedantic"

People usually respect mods by default. A shame to watch it as it communally falls for one.

What's your problem? You have not given a single consistent reason why this thread should not be there. It is more than justified. How many more poeple need to tell you so? Stop being a jackass and open up the thread. Jeez.

Your kidding right, I've seen everything but respect her macnn. If threads are locked people complain, if threads are not locked people complain.

as for that specific thread, I think Scott was a little heavy handed and seems to take issue with WWDC and people getting excited but he does have a point in that it didn't belong in PowerMac forum. It doesn't matter that an inappropriate thread is locked in one minute one hour or one day.

Would you prefer if he added the "Holy ****, wrong forum!" image to his post? Because frankly, that is pretty clearly a Lounge thread rather than a Power Mac thread. You may question his motivation, but the thread was inappropriate.

Doesn't this thread belong in the 'Peripherals' forum?

Hehe.

I think we should observe an official MacNN Forums "don't give a damn day". Just to commemorate how one comment turned a Mac Pro WWDC thread into 1.5 threads full of sh!t.

I guess we don't give a damn about bandwidth or disk space either, huh?

A new iPod is a Mac Pro? Wow, the Intel move really was a bad idea.

Riiiiight. The new iPod is the Mac Pro and the new Mac Pro is the old iPod, actually it will be my daughter's scratched up G2 iPod. And we all don't give a damn about making sense either.
