The Intel-based Mac Pro shares virtually nothing with the Power Macs. Would it not make sense to separate the two forums? Already, we have the portable forums which should have been classified by Intel vs. PowerPC, leading to a lot of similar posts in separate forums.
Just a thought before the Mac Pro topics become too numerous to give this further thought.

No, it makes no sense that the Macbook/Pro are combined with the PowerPC portables whatsoever, nor does this.
It would have been far more logical to have a Macbook & Pro forum, and a Powerbook/iBook forum. Do you need a drawing?

Yes, please. I demand that both of you present drawings to substantiate your arguments. That would be very amusing.

We had a box of Crayolas that all melted into a giant supercrayon in the back of our car once when I was a kid. I decided that was totally awesome and have been a loyal supporter ever since.

...And that's precisely why we didn't separate PowerPC from Intel in the forum listings.

i like candy, but i'm not making out with it.

also, since the processor is not the deciding factor in the vast majority of problems/issues/questions regarding these machines, they shall remain grouped as they are.

No it makes absolutely no sense.

There is a desktop forum that is cpu independent. I mean using your logic, they should have had a powermac G3 forum, a G4 forum and of course the short lived G5 forum.

The forum layout is not designed by cpu but by function, Desktops, iMacs, consumer laptops (ibook & macbook) and pro laptops (MBP). Why make things even more confusing with a gazillion forums.

I've been to some sites that had a forum for every powermac model and most were a barren wasteland as nobody posted in them but used a single forum that was even related to powermacs (a very organzied forum).
