Tooltip thread text over thread title???

I go to some other forums, also vbulletin based, and they have a tooltip of the first few lines of the first post appear when you leave the cursor over a thread title. Its handy to see if a thread is worth clicking into or see what the general idea of the thread is. Is this something that could be put into MacNN forums? I think it would be useful.

we had it enabled when we upgraded to VB3 awhile back, but enough people complained about it that we disabled it.

The feature on Airliners.net is a very good compromise. At the end of each topic title there is a small icon that is clickable, and it opens a field containing the first post in that thread. [the topic titles are cut off on the left side of the pic, so it wouldn't be to wide]
Example:
.. and then the icon can be clicked again or the [x] clicked and the field disappears again. Very neat.

Fighting the tooltip over on AI.
Why is the setting always so aggressive? When it sniffs you might be over a link it pops up, obscuring everything beneath it and then stays that way for 6.8 minutes.
If it was an option, I would support it, but as a default....
