Can Administrators change account names? I'd like to change my name without having to make a new account. Is that possible?

An old forum I was on let users change names at will.
PROS: You know exactly who someone is from their account ID & Post history
CONS: Some d¡ck will take your old name as soon as you change it, just to be funny.

This other forum I'm currently on lets users change names at will. One particular user changes his twice a week, it's confusing as f*ck.

Well it was usually pretty easy to identify who people were, because they usually kept their sigs.
Then again, it was quite the community so the name change was usually part of some joke, so you knew who was involved.

I think users that have been here for say, more than a year or two should be allowed to change their handles if they deem it no longer fits them, or just want to change it. I'm not sure that an at-will, no limit name change would be appropriate, but certainly I see nothing wrong with a user who's been on here for a while to change their handle without losing their post history and count.
Though it seems that few requests here are ever granted, I'd like to join olePigeon in requesting this ability for members who have been here a while, on a limited basis.

A while ago I recall a spate of name changes. "Kevin" for one. I do agree on a minimum time registered.

The name changing process is actually pretty simple around here.
First, you PayPal me $20. Then, you contact an Administrator to see if they will grant you a name change.

There was a forum I used to frequent where you could change your nick at will. Or rather, use an alias at will - if people clicked on your profile they'd still see the original account nick.

Hmm, no I registered Zimphire and Kevin around the same time. I just stopped using Zimphire.
Hence the reason the Zim account has 30k+ posts and this one does not.
