Do mods toy with posters by issuing infractions?
If the posts & exchanges that are the currency of and the reason for any online forum are fun it makes sense that the people who climb to the top of the ladder of forum power are those who want to be a part of this online orgy of ideas and personalities being exchanged.
But one would understand how after some time of merely watching and officiating these acts of intercourse they would want the real thing.
I find I am being nickeled and dimed by infractions which are on the fringe of validity. These have every indication of being nothing more and nothing less than the Gods, er Mods wanting to do more than watch the exotic dancer perform on stage, they want to take the dancer to the back room and get their rocks off.
They know that by issuing an infraction for some dubious rule violation it would produce a response from the target/victim that the mod could enjoy, not as a voyeur or as a traffic cop, but as a participant -- the target would complain about it, here.
The problem with this is that the rules are always stacked in their favor and if I am playing someone with that kind of advantage I do not wish to play.
It's nothing personal. It's just that if I hurt a mod's feelings he will be unable to keep that from affecting his future judgment and impartiality will be impossible when it comes to dealing with my posts.
For each of the past two days I have gotten infractions over matters that I think are highly questionable.
The first one I chose to quietly accept, even though a part of me wanted to protest it. The second one, today is IMO equally bogus and I can only conclude it is an attempt to "invite" me to come here, in the "Feedback Lounge" to argue my case and provide a "private dance" for the the pleasure of a/the mod(s).
I thought everyone should know this is going on.
Anyone else have such impressions?
