Private Message limit?

I first noticed last night that my PM box says it is "94% full". I have 47 messages in there. This seems new to me. Is there a 50 message limit?
I noticed from a screen shot of a mod the other day , Peter I believe, he had well more than 50 private messages. I take it that mods then get larger limits?

yes, the limit for members is 50. this was recently raised.
the limit for mods/admins is considerably higher since we have to deal with board business via PM quite often. for example, i have more PMs than all mods/members (save tooki) combined.

I think a bump to 75 messages wouldn't hurt anybody. That is, besides the hampster.
