Come on, I'm sure you guys have hard drive space to spare for plain text, what with a gig going for less than a dollar. This 50 message limit is way too low.

maybe. there seem to be only a handful of people that use them that much:

this doesn't show those below 40 messages (or above 50, which are all mods/admins).

That doesn't prove anything.

I had to clean mine out recently when I hit 50, so now I'm back to under 30.
Would have liked to kept some of them. Yes, I made a backup, but going back to those in case you need to look something up is PITA.

there, now it's 80.
i'll leave it there until i'm sure it isn't causing any space/server problems and then i'll up it to 100.
