You know who you are and why!

That's all. Thanks.

Meanwhile, in the world of everyone who’s not “who you are”:

What was the reason he was banned?

He didn't personally attack anyone, like a lot of people here do.

He didn't evad the profanity filters, like a lot of people here do.

He didn't call people names, like a lot of people here do.

He did start a lot of original threads, and that is a good thing, but there have been people who started a lot of useless threads.

Seriously, why was he banned?

Because he pulled political content into the main lounge. Simple.

Be fair here - you normally are.

Every single one of his threads was either a post and run job, or it was in some way desined to sneak his political beliefs into the conversation.

Actually, other people turned his threads political.

And they were far from post and runs. In every thread he made a comment and he was the poster with the most amount of posts in those threads. Perhaps besson3c should be banned for derailing a lot of those threads? Or the people who called him names in those threads should be banned.

If you'll notice, it's been quite dead in here today since he was banned. It seems he drove traffic to the site and MacNN should be thankful of that.

It seems to me, that a mod (or some mods) were tired of his posting style and they dropped the hammer on him while there are others (as Railroader pointed out) that violate actual and nothing happens to them. Seems kind of unfair.

While there was some posts that had political content they there was a lot of threads he started that did not have it.

The only thing I could possibly recommend to him is that he just create a new id. It seems the mods let people evade the ban by creating new ids.

A lot of us have been "busted" for breaking made-up rules. marden is just the latest casualty I guess. I just wish they'd enforce the established rules as much as they enforce the non-established rules.
