You gave me a 2 week ban for using KILB*Y, which I did NOT do. I posted a link about the origins of KILBY. Not KILBEY.

Furthermore, I did not CALL railroader by that name. I merely addressed him as RAILROADER, and linked to the origins of the Kilbey name.

I was warned NOT to call railroader the K name.

1. I have NOT called him the K name, I called him Railroader.

2. I never said the K word, I found an alternate spelling of celtic origin. I did NOT use the word you specified that I could not call him by.

With that, I'm unbanning myself. Play fair. I didn't break the rules, so I'm not adhering by a ban, especially over another user's OLD username, which is completely different from a demeaning version of it like "kilbster" or something, NOR is it a full name and location, like RAILROADER has done many, MANY times, some of which you still haven't edited out:

Notice RAILROADER calling me by a childish version of my REAL name and stating my location, using as much PERSONAL PRIVATE information as he can to incite me.

It's a two way street. RR or Kilbey or whatever and Rob have quite a history going back and forth. It's even spilled onto other forums.

To be fair, Railroader seems to have it out for me too, and likes to follow me around looking for confrontation of some sort. While I don't condone Rob's behavior, a little restraint on Railroader's part would go a long way too.

No, it hasn't. I was invited to join another forum by a member there (not Rob) and I applied. I did not know rob was a member there. When I did find out I, I'll admit, I was a little embarrassed that he was allowed to be a member and not me. After that I stopped going there. Rob didn't have any interaction there, that I remember.

Here's the one thread I participated in.

I hope this puts to rest the rumor that I followed Rob anywhere.

You're not getting the point. Nothing spilled over into other forums as you previously stated. You were spreading FUD. I corrected you.

Rob and I had no contact there and I did not go there following Rob.
1. I applied to join,
b. found out Rob was a member,
3. stated my embarrassment and a little anger,
4. was informed he was banned,
5. I congratulated them on banning him, and wanted to join even more.
6. Posted a beer recipe.
7. Eventually I discovered the place was rather boring and immature, so I left.

I don't think there is, because its just not a Rob vs. RR issue. It tends to be a Rob vs. everyone issue. He has shown a total disregard for the rules, his desire not only to bait and inflame RR but others too. He seems to make it a habit of just crapping on threads and demeaning others.

When you get someone like that its virtually impossible to deal with him in a mature and adult fashion because he is not mature . The sad thing is you'd kind of expect some of that behavior from a 15 year old but he's an adult. Heck Cats and MacGeek comport themselves in a much more mature fashion then Rob and they are 15 year olds.

From what I know the mods seem to bend over backwards for Rob allowing him back even though he never really changed his ways and when does get banned he just creates a new id.

I don't know why he got banned, but he's been warned not to do that, which implies infractions, which after a certain amount, get you banned.

That would be a viable option IF the 'admin@macnn.com" email actually worked. Unfortunately, it doesn't. And when you get banned, you lose the ability to PM, so now there is completley no way to contact them, other than creating new usernames.

No bias here folks. Yep. None at all. I would like to point out that I'm not saying anybody is baiting me, I'm saying these rules aren't fair. RAILROADER gets away with spreading personal information on me for almost a year, and only gets punished one time for doing so, and only very recently. No, not everybody is out to get me, but this isn't fair. I know Railroader as KILBEY, since that the USERNAME he posted as for over TWO YEARS. Thousands of posts, with the name "KILBEY" in front of them, and people calling him KILBEY. My brain equates him as KILBEY. I have not EVER used Kilbey intentionally to piss him off, that's just who I know him as.

I was NOT using it to bait him. That is the name I know this guy by. That is the username he used for a very, VERY long time on these boards. That is the name he used when I first 'met him'. Railroader=Kilbey, and I first knew him as Kilbey, so I still call him that. It's also NOT personal information.

As I see it, the problem is that there are a number of users on MacNN who are lacking some very basic debating/flaming skills. I used to make the mistake of continuing to try to have intelligent discussions with them, but eventually gave up and placed them on my ignore list.

Cash doesn't seem to like doing that, instead he keeps arguing with these users ad nauseam, up until the point where things escalate and he gets banned.

Why is it always him who ends up getting banned? I haven't got a clue. I think there are worse offenders on this board, personally. Not that I'd ban them, I wouldn't ban anyone.

The way to sort out disputes on internet forums isn't banning users, it is extended flame‑wars and ignore lists.

That's just it. Railroader has never been 'banned'. He's gotten slaps on the wrists, temporary suspensions, for doing **** much worse than I've ever done. Have I ever posted his fullname and hometown in a childish manner for almost a year straight? Nope. He's done that to me, and he received a MONTH long vacation.

I, however, called him Kilbey ACCIDENTALLY SINCE I KNOW HIM AS THAT NAME, and received an infraction for it, then got banned for even mentioning the origins of "Kilby" for TWO WEEKS.

So... using real name and hometown in demeaning manner.... 1 month ban. Using Kilbey a few times, and then posting a link to the origins of Kilby name, while calling him Railroader= 2 weeks.

Habit. I've known him as Kilbey for over 5 years. I've called him Kilbey for over 5 years.

And you know what? After receiving ONE INFRACTION for that, I HAVE NOT CALLED HIM KILBEY.

exactly. I do the same thing and he calls it "stalking" or whatever. But besson is a ok guy. Once he figures out the way people are treating him is a direct result of how he treats others he will be fine.

Do I think RR cares about if Rob gets mad? Probably not. I wouldn't either if I was him. Does he intentionally go out of his way to piss Rob off anymore? Not from what I have seen.

I've responded to Rob's posts before being careful not to say anything that would trigger and robisms to come out, and they did anyhow.
