Is cgi-irc a possiblity?

I know that not many people here actually log onto the 'NN IRC channel, but still...
What are the odds we could get CGI-IRC running on the NN server(s)? Some of us (i.e. me and maybe others) can't get on IRC at work due to proxies/firewalls that block ports.
Figured it was worth a shot to ask.

Awhile back, gzl (gorgonzola if you don't know him on IRC) was talking about setting up a java chat, along with a link in the forum menu bar (where login/log out, user cp, faq, etc is), he just never go around to it.
There are more pressing matters at hand I think, like the code tag, the image resizer, etc...

Well, it's plenty accessible from a machine that has access to IRC (e.g. not behind a corporate firewall/proxy)...just install Conversation, open the right port range on your home router, and go to town.
I just need a web client to be able to get to it from work - and not one of those Java ones that still uses the IRC port; I mean an actual all-web one that just needs port 80 on the user's computer.

Ah, I see what you're saying. cgi:irc seems better.
(PS Conversation sucks! Use Linkinus or xchat aqua!  )

I couldn't get the other ones to work in 10.3.9 on my crappy old clamshell. Conversation's the only one that's loaded without fail every time, and was easy for me to figure out. (I'm an IRC n00b).
